Kansas 70.3 Prep Camp - May 2011 |

J oin with other athletes in the fastest growing triathlon training series in the Midwest – EMG. Led by Kansas City Elite Triathletes and USAT level I coaches Ben Schleogel and Josh Wolf, Jeff Whitecotton and Liz Weidling (USA Level I swim coach), this training camp and clinic will be held on the new Ironman Kansas 70.3 race course over three days in May 2011. We will kick off camp at the Lawrence Aquatic Center offering 1 hour, or more, of 1 on 1 swim instruction at the Lawrence Aquatic Center followed by a Masters style swim class. We meet the following morning at Lake Clinton for an open water swim followed by a full supported ride on the Kansas 70.3 bike course followed with a short transition run. Sunday morning run the course with aid stations and full support. In addition to the great training our staff will walk you through the finer and equally important parts of race day strategy, nutrition, periodization in training and gaining the mental edge you need to have your best day yet. As well as being part of a fully supported training event, you will learn techniques and tips about training and racing and meet with some of the top athletes and coaches in the region. Different registration options are available: Cost of the 3 day camp is $249.
Schedule of events is listed below. Athletes of all ability levels and goals are encouraged to attend whether you want to finish your first half or qualify for Clearwater let us help you put the finishing touches on your race.

7:30 Open Water swim at Lake Clinton near swim start.
08:30 Breakfast and discussion on open water swim technique and swim strategy for racing. |
08:00 Long run on Kansas 70.3 course.

6PM Long Course/Masters Style Swim at Lawrence Aquatic Center |
09:15 Bike the Kansas 70.3 course. Supported with aid stations and SAG Vehicle. Transition to a short run off bike. |
10:00 Breakfast and close camp. Discussion on goal setting and having your best race. |

7:15 Kick off camp and discuss Training and Racing to “Go Long” |
12:30 Lunch in Lawrence and talk about running off the bike, nutrition and race day strategy. |
