Ben Schloegel took second place overall, at The Worlds Hardest Half in Auburn, CA on May 18th. The Worlds Hardest race course is widely considered the toughest on the planet. Athletes tackle the course via a point to point bike course that has a substantial amount of climbing both technical and tough as well as brutal heat, then finish on one of the toughest and most exposed run course on the planet. Schloegel was bested only by cycling legend Steve Larsen of Bend, Oregon who he will meet again at IM CDA. |

Camp Zoot Ultra Camp Report |
I just returned from the Zoot Ultra Team Camp in Carlsbad, CA read all about it at my blog www.benschloegel.com. The camps was great, everyone at Zoot was very good to us and I have all sort of cool new gear to race and train with. The team is stacked this coming season, we have some of the best age groupers and top pro talent around. We had two athletes from the team in the top 10 at Ironman California 70.3 last weekend, Brandon and Amy Marsh. Both are class acts on and off the race course and should be forces this coming season. |

Ken Welsh receives USAT Level I Certification |
USAT announces that Ken Welsh has received his Level I certification. This certification is a testament to his knowledge of and dedication to athletes and the sport of triathlon.
"I learned a lot at the clinic and believe the certification will make me a better athlete and coach," said Ken. Although Ken is in his 15th year as a triathlete and 4th year as a coach he believes there is a strong need for continuing education and development. In addition to coaching athletes year-round through Midwest Triathlon Coaching, he is excited to be the primary coach for EnduraCamps in 2008. |

Ben's Blog is up and running along with his own, home made (you'll have no problems telling that) web site. Check it out and read up on his progress through the year, training, racing and life through the eyes of a guy that is trying to keep it all together. Lots of pictures, info and mindless ramblings to keep even the most bored entertained for at least another two minutes. |
